In the summer and fall, it might seem like spiders are everywhere! That’s because spider babies born in the Spring have hatched, grown bigger and more noticeable, and now are out and about looking for a mate.
The National Pest Management Association warns people of the real health threats posed by the Brown Recluse spider. Well known for its secretive behavior, it prefers to take up residence in warm, dry, and dark environments, such as woodpiles, basements, and closets. While not aggressive, it doesn’t like to be startled, and when it bites, it can be deadly.
As the weather gets chilly and spiders begin looking for a nice warm place to shelter for the coming winter, they may even find their way into your home. Don’t get spooked! Protect your family from spiders by calling a trained exterminator to conduct a thorough inspection.
With an inspection, a professional will be able to identify if there are any threats from Brown Recluse or Black Widow spiders and offer recommendations to eliminate spider infestations.
